A Remarkable Journey
Arriving in the picturesque town of Montrose, Colorado, in 1976, Joe's roots found a new home.
His upbringing on the Western Slope of Colorado instilled in him the values of hard work, resilience, and a deep sense of community. Graduating from Hotchkiss High School in 1985, he carried with him an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and a profound aspiration to make a difference in the world.
In August 1986, driven by an ardent desire to serve his country, Joe enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in Health Services Management, commencing a prestigious career spanning 23 years of exceptional service. His trajectory within the Air Force saw him in pivotal roles such as a medical records technician, aeromedical evacuation technician, and as the Superintendent of the Medical Individual Mobilization Augmentee program. Notably, Joe's exceptional leadership guided nearly 2,000 medical reservists deployed worldwide in support of operations post the tragic events of 9/11.
Retiring in November 2009 as a Senior Master Sergeant (SMSgt), Joe's legacy in the military stands as a testament to his unwavering commitment and exemplary service to the nation.
Eager to embark on a new chapter, Joe pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Administration from the University of Phoenix, setting the stage for his illustrious civilian career.
His dedication and expertise led Joe to various roles within the healthcare industry, excelling in positions such as an information analyst and Senior Practice Manager at Banner Health. Driven by an insatiable thirst for knowledge, Joe earned a Master of Health Administration degree in 2011 and took on challenges in financial analysis at Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth.
Yet, it is in his fervor to effect positive change in people's lives that Joe's journey took a transformative turn. Leveraging his extensive experience in healthcare administration, he stepped forward to aid individuals, families, and small businesses grappling with the burden of rising health insurance premiums. Becoming a licensed provider of health insurance options across multiple states, Joe committed himself to ensuring access to high-quality health insurance products, championing the cause of affordable and reliable healthcare.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Joe's heart beats with a fervor for community service. Embracing roles in various charitable organizations and boards, Joe has devoted himself to organizations such as Big Brother of America, the Colorado Association of Healthcare Executives, and the Overland Sertoma Club, leaving an indelible mark of altruism and compassion.
